Despite the nerves and anxieties, despite spending the entire day yesterday in a panicked frenzy, the Norse Mythology Workshop went on smoothly, and without a problem. My simply made presentation stood as a compass for me during the hour, with a few pages of notes set aside. The amazing coordinator at the library (and good friend), Keith Bell, had a beautiful set up in the back of the room, a series of mythology books relating to Norse Mythology displayed, as well as writing resources and cookbooks.

By that point, minutes before we were scheduled to begin, I became docile to the idea of no one showing up. Stuff like that always manages to happen. You never know. At least two of the most important people in my life were there, and I could present a goofy presentation around with no stranger eyes watching.
But then, as we neared the start time, a few groups trickled in.
A family, a few people traveling solo. They picked their seats and awaited the presentation.
And as my heart began to soar at the idea of actually presenting something to a small group of people, I glanced at my work, I glanced at my book, and remembered: I’m meant to be here. I am an author, and I am skilled at what I do.
Getting to have this workshop and walk around the expansive library afterward was a great feeling. Libraries are wonderful pieces of work, but the Augusta County Library is special all on its own. I can’t wait to spend days there, walking the aisles and finding a cozy nook. Or even just spending some time at their tables, writing and reading, researching and working.
This will be a short blog post today. It’s a day to take a look over everything you have accomplished so far, and be as proud as you can be. Take a moment today. No matter what it is you got done, be proud of yourself. Give yourself a pat on the back.
You have accomplished so much, and I am so excited to see you and me grow.
Thanks for tuning in. See you soon :)
